strength, stamina, extensive training, courage, and selfless concerns for the
welfare of our citizen;and
72/3WrilltZ1b, In addition to their daily service to communities lire lighters throughout
the state and across the nation have joined the Muscular Dystrophy Association
for the past forty-five years in the light against neuromuscular diseases;and
T) oeileat,, Florida tiro lighters collected a record breaking$1,142 000_00 in over 300
communities with their 2002 "Fill the Boot" campaign for MDA, again making
them MDA's largest source of finding;and
Witj(CM2e. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is extremely grateful to the Ocoee
Fire lighters for their support and dedication;and
UI})PL}iebl The funds collected by the Ocoee Fire Fighters assist MDA in providing
medical services at local clinics, summer camp research grants, support groups,
and public education seminars at no cost to local children and families,and
11MEceab, In honor of the efforts of the Ocoee fire lighters,the Muscular Dystrophy
is sponsoring the Ocoee Fire Fighter Appreciation week,and
3D3gpt3i@A$s, It is appropriate fur all Ocoee citizens to join the Muscular Dystrophy
Association in tribute to our fire fighters.
Now, Therefore: be it resolved that I, S. Scott vandergrill, Mayor of the City of
Oeoce.hereby proclaim August 251 2002 Gvu August 31.2002,as
"OCOFK FIRE EIGIITER APPRECIATION WEEK"
And commend Deuce lire lighters for their efforts on behalf of the Muscular Dystrophy
Association.
