AGENDA REVIEW WORKSHOP

CALL TO ORDER- 5:00 I'M
Mayor Johnson called the workshop to order at 5:00 PM in the Commission Chambers of City
Hall.
Present: Mayor Johnson, Commissioner Brinson, Commissioner Wilsen, Commissioner
Firstner, Commissioner Oliver
Also Present: City Manager Frank, City Attorney Cookson, City Clerk Sibbitt
REVIEW AND DISCUSSION OF PURCHASE OF THE FOREST LAKE GOLF
COURSE - 5:00 PM
Assistant City Manager Shadrix provided background information on the acquisition of the
Forest Lake Golf Course and explained the purpose of the workshop which was to discuss if the
City should purchase the Forest Golf Club business, and if so, how to finance.
Ken Ezell, Ezell & Clifton Golf Design Group, provided additional background information on
the golf course, and explained their business practice which has kept the golf course well
maintained. He explained the value and advantages to the City if the City Commission approves
the purchase of the Forest Lake Golf Club business. Mr. Ezell answered questions presented by
the City Commission.
Steven McDonald, GAI Consultant,provided his credentials in his field and further spoke on the
subject of the business valuation. He summarized the business valuation for the golf course which
he was hired by the City to provide.
Development Services Director Rumer briefed the City Commission on the Golf Club
Redevelopment process.
Utilities Director Smith briefed the City Commission on the Wastewater Operational Impacts.
Finance Director Roberts briefed the City Commission on the Financial Considerations.
Questions by the City Commission were addressed by City staff, Mr. Ezell, and Mr. McDonald.
Consensus was to bring this item back before the City Commission.
Mayor Johnson recommended that public comments be allowed.
