Department (CACOPD)
Background Summary:
Members of the Citizen Advisory Council for Ocoee Police Department (CACOPD) serve three-year
terms. The Resolution creating the Board allows no more than fifteen (15) members. Currently the
board has fourteen (14) members.
The terms of Members David Ball, Adrian Hill, Adam Lovejoy, James Orme and William Simon expire
in January of 2021. Member Ball wishes to be reappointed. Due to lack of attendance and declining
their reappointments, Members Hill, Lovejoy, Orme, and Simon will not be reappointed at this time.
Due to COVID-19 there was only one meeting held in January of 2020 in which Member Ball was
present. In 2019 Member Ball attended 5 of 6 meetings.
Issue:
Should Member Ball be reappointed to the CACOPD Board to serve another three-year term ending
January 2024?
Recommendations:
Staff respectfully recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider
reappointing Member Ball for another three-year term ending January 2024.
