Proclamation
WHEREAS, The City of Ocoee prides itself in honoring, recognizing and praising the
efforts of those individuals who have strived to leave an indelible mark on
the fabric of this community, therefore this tradition continues today as
diligent men and women change the course of their lives as they retire from
public service
WHEREAS, Chief Charles J. Brown has distinguished himself as a skilled law
enforcement Chief for the Ocoee Police Department, whose devotion and
allegiance to his profession have been instrumental in the success of the
Ocoee Police Department.
WHEREAS, During his tenure of over 28 years of dedicated service to the Ocoee Police
Department and the citizens of Ocoee, Chief Brown has earned the respect
and admiration of his subordinates and colleagues for his leadership,
professionalism and vision.
WHEREAS, Chief Brown is a dedicated Chief, embodies the mission of the Ocoee Police
Department: Committed to partnering with the community to improve the
quality of life, preserve order, and provide excellence in police service. He
demonstrates the Ocoee Police Department values of being Approachable
and Responsive to those they serve.
WHEREAS, Chief Brown’s career has been devoted to mentoring men and women in
law enforcement by setting an example of ethics, dedication to duty, and
helping each realize their potential.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, Rusty Johnson, Mayor of the City of Ocoee,
and members of the City Commission, on behalf of the City and this community, do
hereby proclaim Friday, January 22, 2021, as
Chief Charles J. Brown Day
IN OBSERVANCE THEREOF: I call upon the citizens of Ocoee to join me in congratulating
Chief Charles J. Brown as he embarks on a new stage in his
life, and in thanking him for the outstanding service he has
rendered to our community.
