03-25-2021 Minutes Minutes of the Citizens Advisory Council for Ocoee Police Department Quarterly Meeting Held on March 25,2021 I. CALL TO ORDER Chairperson Garone called the meeting to order at 7:01PM. in the Commission chambers of City Hall located at 150 N. Lakeshore Drive, Ocoee. Member Lewis led the Pledge of Allegiance. There was no invocation. Recording Clerk Serrano called roll and determined a quorum present. Present: Chairperson Garone and Members Lewis, Brown, Griner,Meeks and Holt. Member Lomneck arrived at 7:08PM. Also present: DC Ogburn, DC McKinstry, Sgt. Prince, and Recording Clerk Serrano. Absent: Members Ball and Braunskill (absent excused), Member Mann(absent unexcused). Approval of the CACOPD Meeting Minutes from February 18,2021: Chairperson Garone made a motioned to approve the minutes, seconded by Member Brown, motion carried unanimously. II. NEW BUSINESS 9/11 MEMORIAL EVENT Chairperson Garone made a motion to hold the 9/11 Memorial Event at Bill Breeze Park with Vignetti Park being an alternate location if Bill Breeze Park is unavailable, seconded by Member Lewis, the motion passed unanimously. PREVENTING CRIMES IN THE COMMUNITY CONFERENCE-this item was postponed until a later date. TREASURER REPORT Member Griner advised the board that the current budget balance is$540.00. III. Department Updates/Upcoming Events Sgt. Prince addressed the board, and brought the members up to date on unit transfers,vacancies,and promotions within the department. He informed the board that April is Autism Awareness Month and the City will soon be using the Guardian Program;which is designed to allow service calls to be recognized as they relate to individuals with autism, dementia or other disabilities. Residents will be able provide information specific to their loved one for this program. Sgt. Prince invited the board to Coffee with a Cop at the West Road Dunkin Donuts,which will be the first such event since 2019. He further informed the board that the second week of April is Telecommunications Week and the department will be recognizing their dispatchers. He stated the last 1 CACOPD Regular Meeting March 25,2021 event of April will be the annual DEA Drug Take Back,which will be held on April 24th, for the public to be allowed to drop off unused or expired prescriptions for proper disposal. DC Ogburn addressed the board and introduced himself. DC McKinstry also introduced himself to the board. IV. COMMENTS/QUESTIONS FROM THE PUBLIC Jim Moyer of Arden Park North addresses the board about the 9/11 Memorial Event ADJOURNMENT Chairperson Garone made a motion to adjourn the meeting, seconded by Member Lewis.
