Subject: Approval of Capital Budget.Reallocation
Background Summary:
Throughout the fiscal year, Fire Department staff have reviewed their Capital budget to evaluate needs
and identify potential savings. During this analysis, the following needs to cover operations, safety, and
visibility/professional imaging were determined:
• Replacement of Engine 26 permanent ladder (damage would
cost more to repair than to replace) $4,100
• (2) Circular saws $4,100
• (2) Chain saws $2,150
• Vista Brake Lock for Engine 39 to increase safety and prevent
unauthorized use of the apparatus $1,500
• Replacement of worn, faded, and peeling lettering and signage
at fire stations ($3,000 was included in Capital budget) $3,950

To cover these costs, the Fire Department has identified the following available funds achieved by
savings, making repairs, or redistributing other resources:
• CMC Truck Cache Kit (job #A000156) $3,265
• Deus Rescue Device (job #A000157) $4,000
• Generator (job #A000159) $2,700
• Electric PPV fan (job #A000152) $650
• RIT bag (job #A000161) $2,500
• Stair chair (job #A000151) $3,200

Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Mayor and City Commission approve the reallocation of the specified Capital
funds and the purchase of the identified items.
