Department.
Background Summary:
Members of the Citizens Advisory Council for the Police Department (CACOPD) serve three-year terms. Currently
the CACOPD has ten (10) members and their resolution allows no more than fifteen (15) members.
Mr. John Grogan and Mr. Norman Beier have both met their term expiration dates. Mr. John Grogan has indicated
he is willing to serve another three-year term, if reappointed. However, Mr. Norman Beier has declined
reappointment. Since January 2005, Mr. Grogan has attended 19 of 26 meetings with 0 absences unexcused.
There are no applications on file for residents interested in serving on the board.
Issue:
Should member John Grogan be reappointed to the Citizens Advisory Council for the Police Department to serve
another three-year term ending January 201 O?
Recommendations
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners reappoint John Grogan to the Citizens
Advisory Council for the Police Department to serve another three-year term.
