2022-08 Declaring Property within the Existing City Hall as Surplus PropertyRESOLUTION NO.2022-08 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, FOR THE CITY COMMISSION TO DECLARE PROPERTY WITHIN THE EXISTING CITY HALL AS SURPLUS PROPERTY; AND AUTHORIZE THE CITY MANAGER TO APPROVE THE DISPOSITION OF THE EXISTING CITY HALL SURPLUS PROPERTY; PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee, Florida ("City") expects to dispose of surplus property within the existing City Hall building once departments move to the new City Hall building. WHEREAS, per Section C-8 of the City Charter, and Chapter 21 Purchasing Policy of the City Code of Ordinances and Procedures, the City Commission approves the declaration and disposal of Surplus Property, and the City Manager approves departmental transfers of Surplus Property. WHEREAS, City staff recognizes the need for special surplus procedures due to the volume of office furniture and appurtenances, excluding computer equipment, within the existing City Hall. To minimize the costs to the City for disposal of this surplus property, staff recommends this surplus property not be subject to the surplus procedures, and recommends the City Manager be authorized to approve the disposition of said property; and WHEREAS, office furniture and appurtenances of value would be transferred between departments. Office furniture and appurtenances of an estimated minimal value of $50 or less, or at the end of its useful life would be disposed of by donating to Florida local governments, non- profits located within the City of Ocoee, and interested City employees. Any remaining office furniture or appurtenances not transferred or donated would either be added to a future surplus auction or destroyed dependent on estimated value. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Recitals: The above recitals are confirmed, adopted, and incorporated herein and made part hereof by this reference. SECTION 2. Authorization: The City Commission hereby authorizes the City Manager to approve the disposition of surplus property for the existing City Hall. SECTION 3.
