Subject: Notification of Emergency Purchase with Ring Power for Two (2rw fraiiler
mounted 60kW generators per Emergency Notification — Section 21.6, Chapter 21, City
of Ocoee Code of Ordinances.
Background Summary:
The Utilities Department has requested the emergency purchase of two (2) 60kW trailer mounted generator
units from Ring Power. The department currently owns three (3) trailer mounted generators, which has the
department struggling to maintain operations at the lift stations during abnormal weather events. These units
were included in the approved budget for Fiscal Year 2021/22, however, they exceed the City Manager's
normal purchase authority. An emergency PO was necessary due to supply issues with the generator
company. Ring Power had two (2) units in stock and we can expect them in four (44) weeks, which is in time
for this year's storm season. Alternate vendors quoted lead times were range from 60-66 weeks depending
on the model. Both units were under budget.
Issue:
Provide notification to Mayor and City Commission of Emergency Repair exceeding City Manager's normal
purchase authority as provided by Section 21.6 Emergency Purchase, Chapter 21 of City Code of Ordinances.
