The application states the parade is intended to connect to our community and will allow the Football Team and students to pass out candy along the parade route. Ocoee Students in the SGA will provide cleanup after the event. The staging area will be Bill Breeze Park. The estimated number of vehicles/floats participating is 25. The application estimates 400 people will attend the event. Please note that since the parade occurs on a Commission meeting night and from 4:30 — 7:00 p.m., the parade will have an effect on accessing City Hall for the 6:15 p.m. Commission meeting start time. The following downtown roads are proposed to be utilized (see Location Map): i) Lakeshore Drive from Bill Breeze Park to McKey Street, ii) McKey Street from S Lakeshore Drive to N Cumberland Ave, iii) N Cumberland Ave from McKey Street to Oakland Ave, iv) Oakland Ave from N Cumberland to Lakeshore Center parking lot, and v) Bluford Ave from McKey Street to Oakland Ave. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve the closure of Downtown Roads on Tuesday; October 18th, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. for an Ocoee High School Homecoming Parade? Recommendations: Staff will complete the Special Event permit review upon City Commission approval for road closures and assess any fees if required unless the City Commission waives any and all fees associated with the parade.
