Background Summary:
Trustees for the Pension Boards serve four (4) year terms, as amended in Ordinance 2009-020. The City
Commission appoints two (2) of the trustees, two (2) are elected from the employee body, and the fifth trustee
is chosen by those four (4) trustees and presented to the City Commission to ratify the appointment as a
ministerial act.
At their meeting dated November 2, 2022, the Pension Board appointed Bob Briggs to serve as Fifth Trustee for
a four-year term to expire on September 30, 2026. At this time no other applications have been received for
serving on this board.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners ratify the appointment of Bob Briggs as Fifth Trustee for
the General Employees' Pension Board of Trustees?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners ratify the appointment of Bob Briggs as
Fifth Trustee for the General Employees' Pension Board of Trustees with terms ending September 30, 2026.
