Background Summary:
At the September 20, 2022 City Commission Meeting, the City Commission approved funding for Phase 1 of
the Vandergrift Central Park Skatepark to utilize American Ramp Company to build the skatepark with Phase
2 to be brought back after Fiscal Year 22123 budget funding was approved. Phase 2 of the Skatepark was
approved in the FY 22123 Parks and Recreation Capital Budget, and is formally being brought back to the City
Commission as stated in the September 20, 2022 Agenda Item. Phase 2 will add concrete quarter pipes, half
pipes, grind stations and a launch ramp to complete the project. Per the contract, American Ramp Company
will complete Phase 2, and the skatepark will be open to the public in April/May 2023.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve Phase 2 of the Skatepark Project with
American Ramp Company?
Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners approve Phase 2 of the Skatepark Project
with American Ramp Company.

Subject: Approval to Piggyback Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Contract for Phase 1 of
the Vandergrift Central Park Skatepark Project
Background Summary:
The Parks and Recreation Department has $250,000 budgeted in Fiscal Year 21122 for Phase 1 of the
Vandergrift Central Park Skatepark. Phase 2 will be brought back to City Commission at a later date.
City Staff has extensively researched to find a company that they have confidence in to get the job
completed, and also one that has experience with other local municipalities in Central Florida. The
American Ramp Company is a nationally recognized company that has developed skateparks
throughout Central Florida, including Orlando, Orange County and Longwood. American Ramp
Company is part of Sourcewell (Solicitation Number #112420), a cooperative purchasing program, of
which the City of Ocoee is a member. The Parks and Recreation Department is confident American
Ramp Company will design, develop and build a Skatepark for the City of Ocoee to be proud of.
The City's Finance, Risk Management and City Attorney have reviewed the project and pricing.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission approve the piggyback for Phase 1 so Parks and
Recreation can move forward with the Vandergrift Central Park Skatepark.
Recommendations:
Staff recommends the Honorable Mayor and City Commission award American Ramp Company
Phase 1 to piggyback the Sourcewell contract so Parks and Recreation can move forward with the
Vandergrift Central Park Skatepark Project.
