So, I will be filing this written Commissioner Report each month. In it, I will be letting you know what I am working on and what is happening in our District and City. My contact email is: skennedy@ocoee.org Phone (407)905-3112 Some of you may recall my action item list had 17 items on it as of Election Day and now it has 52 items. If you want to add something to the list or want status on an item, please send me an email. I have been in the office each Friday afternoon since being sworn in and I am meeting with each Department Director to get to know them, their staff, responsibilities and review items on the list. So far, I have had meetings with Mike Rumer& Development Services Department and Steve Krug& Public Works. I have a meeting with Jamie Croteau & Utilities this week. The number one issue in D1 remains traffic and congestion. Everyone seems to agree that the Lakewood shutdown exacerbates all other issues and so we want to get Lakewood Avenue open and re- assess other areas. Update on Lakewood: The roundabout was opened on Friday,April 7th. Paving up to the new extension of 2nd Street will be scheduled for April 28th.This will allow access from N Lakewood to Angola or Adair Street for connection to Clarcona-Ocoee Road. Clarke Road Widening: Construction will begin once the SJRWMD permit is issued. I have been working on the City Advisory Board list and openings; I'm recruiting members for these boards from District One—if you want to serve and represent the City, please send me an email. I attended the West Orange Babe Ruth Baseball Opening Day Parade and West Orange Chamber of Commerce's Best Fest—the taste of West Orange. Both were really fantastic events. Whatever your interests are,we have a lot of great activities in the City so please utilize and/or support them. I am also attending the Citizens Public Safety Academy with the Police and Fire Departments. I am meeting their leadership and learning about the multiple functions each department provides to citizens. Grow Healthy Kids—sports balls distributed by Law Enforcement "inspiring positive interactions between Cops& Kids." I made a $250 donation from discretionary funds.www.growhealthykids.org 4 y 1 P } W The City of Ocoee invites you to: W THE FUTURE OF DOWNTOWN OCOEE 0 u } ' "' OCOEE ,, ,, ,,, an , 0 P',.--., downtown by the lakeshore z q q.
