11-09-2023 Minutes• CALL TO ORDER The CACOFD meeting was called to order by Vice -Chair Kepler at 6:04 PM, in the Station 25 Conference Room, located at 563 S. B111ford Avenue, Ocoee. The Pledge of Allegiance was performed by Vice -Chair Kepler, followed by a Moment of Silence. Roll Call and Determination of _Quorum: Recording Clerk Ferrer performed roll call and declared a quorum present. Members in Attendance: Vice -Chair Kepler, Members Ochoa, Fletcher, Vaughn, Channell, and Richardson. Members Absent: Chair Legvold and Washington Also Present: Commissioner Firstrier, Deputy Chief Van Camp, and Recording Clerk Ferrer Guests: None BUSINESS FOR DISCUSSION A. Old Business: Approval of Minutes for August 10, 2023, Motion to Approve August 10, 2023 Minutes; Moved by Member Ochoa, seconded by Member Richardson. Motion carried unanimously . The Board discussed the logistics of a tablecloth. After further deliberation, the board came to a decision on the tablecloth specification Member Fletcher made a motion to approve a red Kt tablecloth with logo, acronym an CACQFD spelled out, not to exceed $450 seconded by zber Oehoa. The motion carried unanimously. Deputy Chief Van Camp will discuss pop-up tents and their value at the upcoming meeting. B. New Business: Vice -Chairperson Kepler lead the discussion on the success of the breakfast for the fire department's retirees, held at The Breakfast Club. Praised the Fire Department Team who worked on making the event happen. A brief discussion ensued. Member Warren made a motion for an Annual Retirement Break Last before August of each near, with, a maximum budget of $500, seconded by Meniher Richardson. Motion carried unanimouslj7. lff� M-MIZ=y Deputy Chief Van Camp addressed the Board and provided information about Firefighter of the year evaluation, Operation Santa, Ocoee Fire Department Facebook, new truck, accreditation, new hire process, and updates that occurred since last quarter, C. Under Construction: City Growth: Commissioner Firstner delivered an update on the growth and upcoming development in Ocoee. Upcoming built will be new single-family homes, gas stations, hotels with parking garage, and a sports complex. Having a ribbon cutting for the new Alibi Apartment Complex. Member Ochoa raised a concern about the rise of traffic. Commissioner Firstner replied that this was bound to happen, but the revenue the city will generate outweighs the negative impact Chair Legvold received input from Council members and set the agenda for the next meeting, which will be held on February 08, 2024.
