BACKGROUNDIDISCUSSION GPS trackers may be placed in commonly stolen, high value items allowing police officers to track the items and lead the officers to the criminals who steal them. GPS trackers are successfully used by law enforcement agencies throughout the Central Florida area for this purpose. The Police Department wishes to purchase a GPS tracker at a cost of not more than $7,500.00 from its Forfeiture account. There is approximately $200,000.00 in that account. The GPS tracker will be selected and purchased in accordance with City purchasing policies and procedures. 1
