Background Summary:
Each year, the City hosts an Annual Appreciation Dinner to thank Board Members and other volunteers for their
time and efforts donated to the City. This year staff would like to hold the event at a city facility to be more
convenient for the guests and to create a better spirit of community.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and Commission adopt the resolution approving the serving of alcoholic
beverages at the Annual Appreciation Dinners.
Recommendations
Staff recommends the Mayor and Commission adopt the resolution approving the serving of alcoholic
beverages at the Annual Appreciation Dinners.

RESOLUTION NO. 2008-XXX
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE SERVING OF ALCOHOLIC
BEVERAGES AT A CITY-OWNED FACILITY DURING THE
ANNUAL VOLUNTEER APPRECIATION DINNERS;
PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, each year the City of Ocoee holds an annual event to show appreciation to the
many volunteers who graciously donate their time and energy to make Ocoee a better place to live;
and
WHEREAS, in past years the event has been held at offsite locations and staff feels t is more
convenient to the guests and creates a better spirit of community to hold the event in the City of
Ocoee; and
WHEREAS, staff would like to continue to offer alcoholic beverages to the guests as it has
been done at the offsite locations;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OCOEE, FLORIDA, hereby authorizes the serving of alcoholic beverages at the Annual
Volunteer Appreciation Dinners being held at a city-owned facility.
