Subject: Consideration to move an Alternate Member to Regular Member Position.
Background Summary:
The Code Enforcement Board was created by Ordinance No. 741 on June 16,1981. The purpose of this
board is to review infractions of the City technical Codes, negotiate compliance and impose fines for
failure to comply. The Code Enforcement Board is to have seven (7) regular members and two (2)
alternate members, all with three year terms. There are no applications currently on file.
Member Lee Ann Stanley has announced that she would be resigning from the board as of November 1,
2008, which leaves a vacant regular member position. There is one alternate member currently on the
board.
Issue:
Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider moving up Alternate
Member Michael Elliott to the vacant regular member position?
Recommendations
Staff recommends that the Honorable Mayor and City Commissioners consider moving up Alternate
Member Michael Elliott to the regular member position.
Attachments:
Resignation from Lee Ann Stanley.
Letter from Chairman Godek recommending Alternate Member Elliott be considered as regular member.

I will be resigning from the code enforcement board as of November 1, 2008. I appreciate the
opportunity to serve on the board. I would like to thank each of you, for all your assitance and
knowledge I have received while serving as a board member.

Regrettably, Lee Ann Stanley has resigned from Code Enforcement Board effective
November 1 , 2008.
I would like to recommend that alternate Michael Elliott be appointed to a regular
position on the board.
Whatever you decide, we will still need 2 replacements as either a regular or alternate
board members.
