PZ 07-09-1974 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD HELD
JULY 9, 1974
PRESENT: BOWNESS, BROOKLYN, CARTER, LAIT, MCROBERT AND THOMAS
ABSENT: TURNER
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. by the chairman,
Mr. Bowness.
1. 011ie Arthur came before board:il on his public hearing - requesting
permission to put a mobile home on property in the West Orange Industrial
Park for a caretakers use. Mr. Lait was of the opinion that as long as
Mr. Arthur was constructing a building on said site he should build quarters
for a caretaker in said building. After much discussion Mr. Carter made
a motion to issue Mr. Arthur a permit for his trailer, seconded by Mr.
McRobert. Bowness, McRobert, Carter, BrooklynY °and Thomas voted yea, Mr.
Lait voted nay. Mr. Arthur was informed that the above recommendation would
be made to the City Commission.
Mrs. Simmons of 312 Bay Street came before the zoning board requesting
permission to build a 50'x16' green house on her property to raise orchids
for her own enjoyment. After much discussion IVr. Lait stated that in order
to do this she would need a public hearing asking for a zoning change
from R1A to C4. Mr. Bowness explained the necessary procedure to Mrs. Simmons.
Meeting adjourned at 8:00 p.m.
