PZ 03-09-1976 Minutes of the Planning and Zoning Board Meeting Held March 9, 1976 Present: Ch. Bowness; Members Brooklyn, Peck, McRobert, Thomas, Carter, and Turner. Absent: None The meeting was called to order at 7:43 P.M. by Chairman Bowness. The reading of the minutes of the previous meeting was postponed until after the one item on the agenda by Chairman Bowness. MR. ROBERT GIBSON came before the board to request permission to use the building he owns at the corner of Kissimmee and Columbus Streets (known as 600 Kissimmee according to the present system of numbering in the City of Ocoee) for a shop to rebuild and repair generators, starters, and batteries. He had applied for an occupa- tional license and had been denied because the property is in I -1 zoning in an area that still is entirely residential. After much discussion as to why Mr. Gibson was sent before this board, the members agreed that they could find no reason to deny a license. So Mr. Thomas made a motion to recommend to Council that they cause an occupational license to be issued to the applicant for the requested business using the existing building on the property at 600 Kissimmee with the option that it can be renewed in one year if there are to be no structural changes in the building. Mr. Carter seconded. Unanimously passed. Mr. McRobert made a suggestion that the board put on their agenda the intent to review certain parts of the zoning regulations so that the board's actions are in accordance with the original intent of the regulations as drawn up or change the reading of the regulations. Mr. McRobert made a motion to send City Commissioners a vote of thanks for the copy of their minutes. Mr. Thomas seconded. Unanimously passed. The minutes of the previous meeting which was a public hearing on March 4, 1976 were accepted as read. The motion to adjourn was made by Mr. Turner and seconded by Mr. Peck. Unanimously passed at 8:43 P.M. Respectfully submitted can G. Main, Deputy Clerk
