Background Summary: The City of Ocoee has received a special event application from the Rotary Club of Ocoee requesting the use of the Community Center for a fundraising event taking place on March 11, 2011, and to have the rental fees associated with the use of the center be waived. Proceeds from the event will go towards providing assistance to the community. Staff has prepared a list of the fees associated with this permit, which are typically paid three weeks prior to the occurrence of the event; these fees include: • Facility Use Fee which based upon six (6) hours of use at $70 per hour fee, for a total of $420.00. • Security Deposit Fee of $250.00, which is refundable. In the past, the City Commission has waived the facility use fees for civic and community based organizations. Issue: Should the Honorable Mayor and City Commission approve waiving the fees associated with the Rotary Club of Ocoee fundraising event to be held on March 11, 2011 at the Community Center?
