RETIREMENT BOARD MEETING) - September 24, 1999
Chairman REED called the meeting of the City of Ocoee Police Officers'/Firefighters'
Retirement Trust Fund to order at 1:10 p.m. in the Commission Chambers Conference Room of
City Hall. The roll was called and a quorum declared present.
PRESENT: Chairman Reed, Secretary Strosnider, Members Gledich and Williams.
ABSENT: Member Wilson (excused).
QUESTIONS /COMMENTS FROM AUDIENCE
There were no questions or comments.
CERTIFY ELECTION
Chairman REED announced that his term as Trustee for the Firefighter seat on the Police
Officers'/Firefighters' Pension Trust Board expired September 30, 1999. Notice of the election
had been posted and Richard Firstner had been the only employee who had submitted a written
nomination. No ballots had been distributed as the position had remained uncontested. He said
that a motion was needed to certify the result of the election. Secretary STROSNIDER,
seconded by Member WILLIAMS, moved to certify the election result that Richard Firstner
will serve as Trustee for the Firefighter seat on the City of Ocoee Police Officers'/Firefighters
Pension Trust Fund beginning October 1, 1999 thru September 30, 2001. Motion carried 4 -0.
ELECT OFFICERS
Discussion ensued about electing officers when new members were coming to the Board.
Member WILLIAMS, seconded by Member GLEDICH, moved to continue the issue of
electing officers until the November 18, 1999 Board meeting. Motion carried 4 -0.
SELECTION OF FIFTH BOARD MEMBER
Chairman REED submitted a letter from James Coschignano who expressed an interest in
serving as the fifth board member. Member WILLIAMS, seconded by Member GLEDICH,
moved to appoint James Coschignano as the fifth Board member (term expires September 30,
2001). Motion carried 4 -0.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Reed adjourned the meeting at 1:16 p.m.
