MINUTES OF THE CITY OF OCOEE CANVASSING BOARD MEETING HELD
APRIL 11, 2001
CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Vandergrift called the Canvassing Board to order at 12:00 p.m. in the Commission
Chambers Conference Room. The roll was called and a quorum declared present.
PRESENT: Mayor Vandergrift, Commissioners Anderson (arrived 12:04 p.m.), Johnson and
Parker. Also present were Chief Assistant City Attorney Cookson, City Clerk Grafton, and
Deputy City Clerk Green.
Also attending were Commissioner Howell and Tony Cristelli.
ABSENT:
None.
City Clerk Grafton announced there were 435 votes cast in the Runoff Election for
Commissioner, District 1 held on April 10 with tabulator results as follows:

The books had closed for voter registration for this election on March 12, 2001, and there were
2,104 total registered voters in Ocoee District I as of April 10, 2001.
Mrs. Grafton reported that 22 absentee ballots had been requested and 11 absentee ballots had
been returned. She said the Elections Office verified all the signatures and had found all of the
signatures to be acceptable.
Attorney Cookson verified there were 11 ballots to be opened. All members removed the
ballots from the mailing envelopes. Then all members removed the ballots from the secrecy
envelopes and sorted and counted them by candidate.
City Clerk Grafton read the results of the absentee ballot count and gave the totals of both
counts as follows:

Commissioner Anderson. seconded bv Commissioner Johnson. moved to accent as official
the tabulator count and the absentee count as noted above. Motion carried 4-0.
Commissioner Anderson. seconded bv Commissioner Parker. moved to certify the election
results for Commissioner. District 1 as noted. Motion carried 4-0.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 12:10 p.m.
