FOR THE OCOEE FIRE DEPARTMENT
MEETING HELD FEBRUARY 13, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
Member Vaughn conducted the meeting and called the meeting to order at 7:03pm in the Station 25 Training
Room located at 563 South Bluford Avenue.
Member Vaughn called roll and declared a quorum was present.
PRESENT: Members: Chairman Vaughn, Channel, Lawrie, Richardson and Acting Chief Hoover
ABSENT: Commissioner Johnson(A).
GUEST (S) Jackie Titus
Approval of Minutes: November 14, 2013 minutes were approved.
Motion by Channel seconded by Richardson carried 4 - 0
Chairman Vaughn introduced Acting Chief Hoover to the board. Acting Chief Hoover introduced himself
and gave the board a little information about what was going on with the discussion of Orange County taking
over the Fire Department.
Old Business: - Discussion on disbanding of the board was discussed and decided at this time not disband it.
New Business -
Ms. Titus spoke on behalf of being a retired firefighter's wife and how important it is to keep this fire
department.
Member Channel discussed some past experience with Orange County.
Member Richardson discussed back when he was an engineer with Orlo Vista and was merged with the
County.
Member Lawrie suggested having an open house at the stations.
Member Vaughn discussed again about not disbanding the board and by next meeting trying to organize an
open house at station 25 for the public.
