FOR THE OCOEE FIRE DEPARTMENT
MEETING HELD MAY 8, 2014
CALL TO ORDER
Member Titus conducted the meeting and called the meeting to order at 7:08pm in the Station 25 Training
Room located at 563 South Bluford Avenue.
Recording Secretary Hall called roll and declared a quorum was present.
PRESENT: Members: Acting Chairman Titus, Lawrie, Richardson and Acting Deputy Chief Smothers
ABSENT: Commissioner Johnson, Member Vaughn, Member Channel, and Acting Chief Hoover.
GUEST (S) Johnny Hodge
Approval of Minutes: February 13, 2014 minutes were approved.
Motion by Richardson seconded by Lawrie carried 3 -0
Acting Chairman Titus welcomed Johnny Hodge as a guest at tonight's meeting.
Acting Chairman Titus lead the board in the Pledge of Allegiance.
Old Business: - Discussion on the open house on June 7, 2014 from 10 -2 approval by Acting Deputy Chief
Smothers. Acting Chairman Titus discussed the activities to be held at the open house.
Motion by Lawrie seconded by Richardson carried 3 -0
New Business -
Acting Chairman Titus discussed the open house some more about inviting the Mayor and Commissioners.
Member Richardson asked who would be cooking and was told the union and James Kelley would be
cooking hot dogs.
Acting Chairman Titus asked how much money they have available in there budget and was informed
$972.00.
Acting Deputy Chief Smothers said he would send a press release out. Acting Chairman Titus said she
would make up flyers and has them available for the members to hand out.
Acting Chairman Titus asked about getting annual reports from the department.
Acting Chairman Titus asked the members to make sure that everyone was at the open house to help out with
the event and to bring spouses and family members also.
Acting Deputy Chief Smothers discussed the CPR classes being changed from Wednesday's to the first
Saturday of every month.
Motion by Richardson seconded by Lawrie carried 3 -0
