A- Proclamation jprot[omotion J(now 1}e: W~<<l\.<<~s;, {[he great City of Ocoee long has been recognized as a "Center of Good Living," that the people of Ocoee are noted for their friendliness for their cheerful pursuit of what has been described as "the good life" for themselves, their families and friends; and W~<<l\.€a:&, ~1though each season in Ocoee bears its particular joys, the late summer and early fall are especially noteworthy and heartening to the spirit because of the annual proliferation of butterflies, which epitomize both the beauty and the freedom valued so highly by the citizens of Ocoee; and W~<<l\.€O, ~utterflies of numerous varieties and stunning beauty are especially abundant in Ocoee, bringing their gentle loveliness to every lawn and the cares W~€~<<a:s;. W~<<3B.<<O, (/f) caee of the Order beauty of these W~<<l\.<<~iJ, 3l'n view of such wonderful given so freely and indiscriminately by the gentle butterfly, it is hereby proclaimed that the City of Ocoee extends its official welcome to the butterfly throughout the August- through-October season. Now, Therefore, I, S. Scott Vandergrift, Mayor of the City of Ocoee, and (lepidopterological enthusiast) do hereby proclaim August through October to be BUTTERFLY SEASON in the City of Ocoee, and urge all citizens of our community to recognize this special occasion by planting butterfly friendly plants and gardens.
