Background Summary:
The Metroplan Orlando, a regional transportation partnership, sent a letter to Mayor Vandergrift
requesting that the City of Ocoee reaffirm their desire to continue participating on the Committee for 2015
and, if so, to appoint or reappoint the member who will serve as the City's representative. This position
has been historically appointed in March with the other commission liaisons; however Metroplan would
like the appointments to be made on a calendar year basis.
Issue:
Should the City Commission affirm their desire to continue participating in the Metroplan Orlando Municipal
Advisory Committee and appoint /reappoint a member to represent Ocoee?
Recommendations
Staff recommends the Mayor and Commission reaffirm their desire to continue participating on MAC and
reappoint Commissioner Keller to remain the city's representative for the year 2015.

Dear Mayor Vandergrift,
Each year, cities eligible for representation on MetroPlan Orlando's Municipal Advisory
Committee are asked to reaffirm their desire to continue participating on the
Committee. This also allows opportunity for cities that are eligible, but have not been
active, to designate a member and become an active participant.
The Municipal Advisory Committee bylaws offer options for either you or a member of
your City Commission or Council to be designated as your representative. However, if
this is not feasible, your city manager or a senior staff member may be designated in
your stead.
Commissioner Joel Keller is currently designated to represent you on the MAC. I ask
that you please notify me if he will continue, you will designate yourself or another to
represent your city, or decline participation on the Committee. Any changes in your
current representation should be submitted to MetroPlan Orlando in writing. A copy of
the official 2014 Attendance Record is enclosed for your information.
