Subject: Surplus 50 masks, 44 voice amps and 28 air packs with bottles an add Pack Tracker
to the purchase new Air Packs.
Background Summary:
The approved city budget includes replacing the Fire Department Scott Air Packs that are 11 years old. The
City Commission approved the purchase from Fisher Safety on January 6, 2015, and approved the lease
purchase financing on May 19, 2015. The City received a revised proposal from Fisher in the same amount,
which incorporates the trade in of the air packs and bottles that were purchased from the same company 11
years ago. This trade in will upgrade the approved air packs with a Pack Tracker. The Fire Department is
requesting the Commission to approve declaring the surplus of 28 air packs with bottles 44 voice amps and 50
masks for trade in and upgrade the approved air packs with Pack Tracker.
Issue:
Request the Commission to declare 28 air packs with bottles, 50 masks and 44 voice amps surplus for trade in
and upgrade the approved air packs with Pack Tracker.
Recommendations
Staff recommends the approval of the Commission to declare 50 masks, 44 voice amps and 28 air packs with
bottles surplus for trade in on the purchase of new Scott Air Packs with Pack Tracker, in order to ensure the
Ocoee Fire Department continues to meet the latest edition of NFPA standards and provide additional firefighter
safety.

Attached is a copy of the new price quote dated 5/22/15.
Financial Impact:
There is no price difference from the previous quote of $185,776.00. With the trade -in the Fire Department is
able to add the Pack Tracker device. This purchase has been added to the city -wide lease purchase equipment
financing. The trade in value is $4,500.00.
