A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF OCOEE FLORIDA,
AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF A FLORIDA
RECREATION DEVELOPMENT ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
(FRDAP) GRANT APPLICATION TO THE FLORIDA
DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
(FDEP)FOR THE 2016-2017 PROGRAM YEAR.
WHEREAS, the City of Ocoee desires to submit an application to the Florida Department
of Environmental Protection that requests grant funding from the Florida Recreation Development
Assistance Program(FRDAP)for the benefit of local residents; and
WHEREAS, there is a present and growing need for outdoor recreational opportunities
among persons of all ages within the City of Ocoee, Florida and among those visiting the area;
and
WHEREAS, meeting the increasing demand for recreational opportunities can best be
met with outdoor recreation improvements to Montgomery Road Park which is located in the
City of Ocoee, Florida, as detailed in the FY 2016-2017 FRDAP grant application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF OCOEE,FLORIDA,AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Authority. The City of Ocoee hereby authorizes the filing of an
application for FRDAP grant funding; and
SECTION 2. That the Mayor, or the City Manager on his behalf, is hereby
authorized to execute all documents required in connection with the filing of said application.
SECTION 3. Severability. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase
or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of
competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate, distinct and independent
provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portion hereto.
SECTION 4. Effective Date. This Resolution shall become effective
immediately upon passage and adoption.
