Subject: Approval for the use of savings of$4,651 to upgrade existing OFD stretchers.
Background Summary:
On 8/04/15 the commission approved $188,915 for purchase of a transport rescue with a Power Load unit.
By purchasing the Power Load unit directly from the manufacturer, rather than through Wheeled Coach, the
city saved $4,651. The Fire Department would like to use the savings of $4651 plus add $5,094.36 from OFD
account 3400 to support the $9,745.36 cost of upgrades to our existing Stryker stretchers.
Issue:
The issue is the current stretchers need to be upgraded to be compatible with the new transport rescue with
the Power Load system. With these upgrades, it will also assist us with safely transporting larger patients and
preventing the likelihood of overturning the stretcher with patients on them.
Recommendations
Staff recommends the approval to use the savings of$4,651 to retrofit the existing stretchers

Financial Impact:
No financial impact to the current budget. The savings of $4,651 from 001-00-522-6401 plus $5,094.36 from
001-00-522-3400 from the current budget to retrofit the existing stretchers.
