Background Summary
On October 7, 2004 a Notice of Violation was sent to Better Built Homes of Florida USA Inc. for failure to pay
plan review fees for 943 Haverford Dr., 1088 Royal Marquis Cir. and 1020 Royal Marquis Cir.. The code in
violation was §51-128. The plan review fees totaled $923.50.00. Failure to comply resulted in a Code
Enforcement Board meeting on November 23, 2004, where they were found in violation and given until
December 10, 2004 to comply. Further failure to comply resulted in an Order Imposing Fine on January 25,
2005.
Issue:
In these cases, Better Built Homes of Florida USA Inc. was cited and the homes were never built by them.
Since then, each of the properties have changed hands several times. The fine/lien totals $325,646.55 for all
three cases.
Recommendations:
Since Better Built Homes of Florida USA Inc. never started construction, the fine/lien for all three cases should
be dismissed. This will help us to clean up our fine/lien list.

Financial Impact:
The fine/lien of$325,646.55 would be eliminated. No out-of-pocket costs were incurred.
