Dear Members, Friends and Business Associates,
The Winter Garden Elks are now planning their Annual Charity Ball. At this time each year, we hold this event to benefit our two
major state projects, The Florida Elk's Children's Therapy Services andElorida .YOl!t~ Camp. Since 1933. the Elks. of Florida have
dedicated themselves to serving children with special needs. . ,
The FlorIda Elk's Therapy Services provides In-home physical, Occupational and speech therapy to the children of Florida. Physical
therapy is the profession concerned with t~e prevention of disability, alleviation of pain and restoration of function and mobility.
Occupational therapy is the profession concerned with assisting these children to be more functional and independent in their play,
schoolwork and daily living skills. Speech therapy is given when a therapist determines that a current patient requires such
treatment. Patients are cared for until goals are met and/or the child's needs are best met in another way. Much time and effort is '
necessary to make this process a smooth transition for the child and family.
This rehabilitation is necessary to be rendered in the home because of the absence of services locally or because the patient is
medically infirmed at home. Priority is given to children who do~ not have access to therapy as a result of financial considerations.
The therapists, which render these services, are employed by the Florida Elks and are licensed to practice in the State of Florida.
Our program now has more than twenty~five vanswith therapists traveling many miles In Florida seeing well over 350 children each
week rendering hours of patient therapy.
Our goal is to provide physical, speech and occupational therapy to the
children of Florida who do not have easy access to these services.

Our ELKS ANNUAL CHARITY BALL will be held:
Saturday, March 17, 2007, 7:00 pm at the lodge in Winter Garden.
Tickets for the event are only $15.00 per person.
Semi-Formal/Formal attire requested.
Dinner will be served folloWed by a special awards ceremony.
Entertainment will be provided for your listening arid dancing pleasure until 12:00 am.
