Re: Supplements to Code of Ordinances
The Code is now completely current and the status of the account budgeted for
this is as follows:
Amount due to General Code now $2,654.63
Balance in Capital Improvement Acct. 895.00
Needed to bring account current $1,759.63
Our contract with General Code Publishers Corp. provides that supplementation on
a regular schedule, although desirable, is not mandatory. However, in order to
maintain the integrity and value of the new Code of Ordinances we attempted to
budget to have regular supplements published. It was our intention to authorize
supplements either quarterly or semi-annually depending on the number of
ordinances passed. In the crunch the $5,000 originally requested for this was
reduced to $1,000.
Although it is not possible to project with certainty the number of ordinances
to be processed during the balance of this fiscal year which would change the
Code, we roughly estimate $2,000 would be sufficient to cover the additional
supplements.
ACTION REQUESTED:
That the Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners authorize a transfer of
funds in the amount of $3,759.63 from Contingency Fund to Capital Improvement
Fund #001-512.1-6302 to cover the outstanding balance and projected needs for the
maintenance of the Code of Ordinances.
