Street Resurfacing Project
On August 9, the bids were opened for the adopted resurfacing project for FY 92-93. The
results showed:
Orlando Paving Company $20,347.60
American Asphalt, Inc. $23,068.50
MacAsphalt $27,671.68
Public Works reviewed responses as to work product, while Administrative Services checked
for sufficiency. Award to Orlando Paving Company for $20,347.60 is recommended by both
Departments. Time to completion is twenty-one (21) days after Notice to Proceed is issued.
Currently$17,379.85 remains for this paving improvement. There are, however, adequate funds
in the sidewalk construction capital line item to pay additional and provide a contingency. A
transfer from sidewalk construction to paving and drainage improvement must also be included.
Action Requested
The Mayor and Board of City Commissioners (1) approve the transfer of $4,000.00 from
Sidewalk Construction (001-41-541-6303) to Paving and Drainage Improvement (001-41-541-
6300) and (2) award Bid #B93-012 to Orlando Paving Company in the amount of$20,347.60.
