CITY ENGINEER/UTILITIES DIRECTOR 150 N.LAKESHORE DRIVE•OCOEE,FLORIDA 34761 (407)656-2322 MEMORANDUM DATE: May 20, 1994 TO: The Honorable Mayor and Board of City Commissioners FROM: James W. Shira, P.E. City Engineer/Utilitie irector SUBJECT: Wastewater Residuals Dedicated Site Plan aa On December 21, 1993 the City Commission authorized L.J. Nodarse to install three groundwater monitoring wells and collect and test the first round of groundwater samples in accordance with our F.D.E.P. permit. This work was authorized in the amount of $3,130.00. The first round of samples indicated an unexpectedly high mercury level which would have been a source of great concern to F.D.E.P. I felt that this result was due to the method of testing used, and authorized L.J. Nodarse to collect another set of samples to be tested by an alternate method. This second round of samples indicated that the mercury levels were, in fact, well within allowable limits. The extra work was authorized by me in order to get the required report submitted to F.D.E.P. on time. The report has been completed and submitted to F.D.E.P., and is now under review by that agency. The additional fee to L.J. Nodarse and the testing laboratory for this extra work is $1,180.00. I recommend that the City Commission authorize the transfer of $1,180.00 from Wastewater Reserve for Contingency to pay for this additional work. THE PRIDE OF WEST ORANGE Ogg-
